Chartered Insurance Institute
For some organisations, corporate reporting is a routine task. However, for the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), it’s an essential way to engage stakeholders, demonstrate transparency and build trust in the insurance and financial planning professions.
Their annual reports need to do more than share financial data; they need to tell a story of progress, change and ambition, ensuring that members, regulators, and the wider industry stay informed and engaged.
That’s where AB comes in. Since 2016, we’ve partnered with the CII to deliver clear, compelling and professionally executed corporate reports. Through Board changes, new CEOs, and strategic shifts, we’ve been a constant in their journey – helping them communicate their evolving vision while maintaining the highest standards of reporting.

A strategic approach to reporting
Every annual report requires careful planning and execution to ensure it delivers the right messages in an engaging and accessible way. We kick off each project with an in-depth briefing on the past year’s performance – both financial and non-financial – before shaping a reporting strategy that aligns with the CII’s wider goals.
Our process includes:
- Interviewing key stakeholders to capture meaningful insights and perspectives
- Drafting clear, engaging content tailored to the CII’s professional audience
- Developing creative concepts and designs that align with the CII’s brand identity
- Managing stakeholder reviews to refine messaging and ensure accuracy
This structured approach means that our reports not only look great but they also serve as effective tools for transparency and engagement.

Delivering a suite of reports
Our work with CII extends beyond their main annual report. We’ve also supported the Personal Finance Society (PFS), part of the CII Group, in producing their reports. These additional projects include designing the PFS Annual Report for 2023 and 2024, creating a cohesive suite of reports that reflect the values and goals of the CII Group as a whole.
In 2021, we also played a key role in communicating the CII’s strategic review. This involved crafting a report that presented complex organisational changes in a clear, accessible format. By ensuring consistency and accuracy across all messaging, we’ve helped the CII deliver reports that resonate with diverse audiences, from members and stakeholders to external regulators.

A partnership built on trust
What makes these reporting projects special aren’t just the reports themselves – it’s the relationship we’ve built with the CII over the years. Through leadership changes and evolving strategic priorities, we’ve remained a trusted partner, helping them navigate challenges while maintaining clear and professional reporting standards.
The longevity of our partnership is a testament to the trust and confidence the CII places in us. Over the years, we’ve successfully delivered reports that not only meet the highest standards of accuracy and compliance but also tell a story of progress and ambition.
AB has been an invaluable partner in delivering our annual reports. Their expertise, creativity and reliability have helped us communicate our vision and progress effectively over the past several years.

As we continue working on the next report, our focus remains the same: delivering strategic, engaging and beautifully designed reporting that reinforces trust and tells the CII’s story with confidence. Our commitment to excellence ensures that each report we produce serves as a vital tool for transparency, engagement and progress.
