It started in 2012 with a new website for Pimlico Academy which is one of a small family of ambitious schools in south Westminster run by the educational charity Future Academies.
Future Academies is committed to helping young people succeed in life by setting them up with the best possible education. Like other academies they are striving to improve standards in all that they do, which includes their communications. Now they have, with our help, best practice communications which supports the standards and the reputation they are creating in school. Like any brand, it has to mean something and then be delivered consistently.
Over the last 2 years we have been busy helping transform their communications, with a wide variety of work including websites, email marketing, social media branding, signage and film. The individual identities of the different schools are now part of a cohesive brand helping to reinforce the status of Future Academies.
Often communications by schools are put together by teachers and admin staff themselves, who by their own admission have little time to spend on them. This is where we believe we can help by not only improving design but also strategy and implementation, allowing teachers more time to focus on what they do best.
On a personal level I have really enjoyed working on the Primary Academy work. My daughter is at that age and I see her schools communications, which although full of great ideas, there’s definitely room for improvement!
